Dr. Julia Greenspan is a Lyme Literate Doctor with a majority of her patient population having some form of tick-borne disease. Her focus in this area of medicine stems from living in New England, one of the most infected and infested areas in the country for Lyme disease. She is also well versed in general family practice assisting patients with other acute and chronic diseases. Dr. Greenspan feels the best option is the balance of using conventional medicine, alternative medicine, and energy healing methods for what is best for the patient. Dr. Greenspan’s goal has always been to support patients with compassion and individualized care, listening fully without judgement. Her focus is on an individuals highest health priority.

Dr. Greenspan is an naturopathic doctor for over twelve years and published author of the book “Rising Above Lyme Disease.”  She earned her doctorate from the National University of Natural Medicine in 2006. She holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. Prior to medical school she worked several years in social work with a focus in crisis management in areas of domestic violence, suicide prevention, and working with the homeless population in Portland, Oregon. She served five years on the Naturopathic Board of Examiners for the State of New Hampshire.

She has been listed in the Top Doctor’s Reader’s Poll with New Hampshire Magazine consecutive years in a row. Cheryl Celia, FNP

Cheryl Celia is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a diverse background. She has been working in healthcare for 27 years. Her nursing experience is mostly in Emergency Nursing and as a Nurse Practitioner she has worked in areas such as Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Observation Medicine, a Heart Valve Center, Primary Care, Hospice/Palliative care and Geriatrics. She has specialized training in Functional Medicine, Healing Touch/Reiki, Medical Marijuana, EFT, and mindfulness. Cheryl practices within the balance of Holistic/Natural Medicine and Conventional medicine and it has been her passion to offer this in a primary care setting that encourages this. She is so excited to be working within this wonderful Naturopathic Practice and to be offering Primary Care to the community that she lives in. Cheryl grew up in Hudson, NH and is currently a resident of New England. She loves NH and the community of Amherst and is looking forward to serving them.


Miriam Mendelsohn, ND

Dr. Miriam Mendelsohn is a board certified Naturopathic Physician. She specializes in thyroid disease, hormonal health and hormone replacement, gastrointestinal health, autoimmune disease, sleep disorders, and mental health; however, her experience is not limited to these areas, and she will soon be proficient in the identification and treatment of Lyme disease under tutelage from Dr. Julia Greenspan. Her philosophy on health begins first and foremost with listening to patient needs, ensuring individualized care during every visit. It is her intention to provide a safe space to all, cultivating warmth and trust between doctor and patient.

Although Dr. Mendelsohn is licensed to prescribe pharmaceuticals in the state of New Hampshire, she also prescribes herbs, vitamins, minerals, and diet and lifestyle therapies to address patient concerns. In addition, she is a strong believer in the therapeutic benefits of counseling and talk therapy.

Dr. Mendelsohn graduated from Bastyr University, where she spent many clinical hours studying with a multitude of well-respected Naturopathic Doctors and at Seattle Children’s Hospital. She continues to pursue educational tools, including Integrative Mental Health training and various extracurricular classes.

Dr. Mendelsohn received her bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College in New York, where she studied art, biology and psychology. Here she explored her lifelong fascination of cultural studies by pursuing classes and lectures around gender and sexuality; this insight has allowed her to better support current patients. In her free time, she expresses her artistic side with metal work, printmaking, painting, and textile arts.
